How to read a claim

  • “BPA free” names one bisphenol

BPA is one bisphenol of many. A claim that names only BPA says nothing about the others.

  • “BPA free” on a part that does not touch food

Ninja says the outside of this air fryer is BPA free. The outside does not touch your food, and there is no claim for the drawers or crisper plates.

  • A claim limited to one coating

Philips says the inner coating is BPA free. The claim does not cover other parts.
